  Update of 14/11/16
Posted by: Arxos - 14-11-2016, 04:18 AM - Forum: M.U.G.E.N - Replies (8)

Hey again everyone. As with the last time there was a playlist update, all new tracks can be found here.
Unfortunately this update does not include everyones' submissions of the past few weeks, as I have been a bit bogged down with other duties the past two weeks. So if you don't see a single one of your songs, don't panic yet!
Also, due to popular request I've included versions of 'Snake Eater' and 'Only my Railgun' with lyrics, the instrumental versions have been removed from the playlist as a result.

As for further updates, moving into next week there should be two major updates.

The first is the addition of new characters via a new game mode in the upcoming weekend. Close to 400 characters in total are waiting for their addition, but this will be spaced out over multiple weekends, to prevent the site being 100% new character matchings for some weeks to come. The characters will get added gradually and randomly in this new game mode, but priority can be given to characters. If you really want a character added ASAP (Of course, I already know that'll be the case for authors...), send me a PM on the forums or an e-mail at spriteclubtv@gmail.com and I'll make sure your favourite characters see the light of day early.

Secondly, the PC upgrade is growing closer! It's a matter of settings things up now, and given that I don't get bogged down too much I hope to do so before the new characters get added. Some down time is expected when making the switch, but I can't tell for sure yet whether it'll be 5 minutes or some hours. Either way, expect 60 fps goodiness and the release of lag-inducing characters/palette's soon.

I think that's it for now, happy betting!

Assistance wanted: Time to gather all MUGEN-related data from axfc
Posted by: Tosiaki - 05-11-2016, 07:28 AM - Forum: M.U.G.E.N - No Replies

The rate at which I find data getting corrupted or disappearing from the axfc uploaders is very alarming. I want to go through all the things I know links to axfc are included, and download all the MUGEN-related stuff from it. This will take a long time, so any assistance or extra backups will be great. After downloading, it is important to make sure to test them to see if any files from them, especially the large ones like sff and snd files, are not corrupted. It would be useful to still keep the file even if it has one or two corrupted files, since perhaps the sff and snd files could be found elsewhere.

Use ctrl+f to find all the links to axfc to find everything quickly.

These are the places to look through for axfc links:

Make sure that when you look through 2ch or 2ch-style boards, that you choose the "view all" option instead of "view last 100." You will know that you are not seeing all posts if you don't see a post #2 and it just skips from post #1 to a very high number.

All videos tagged AI作ってみたシリーズ or MUGENキャラ作成 on Nicovideo:
For the second one, please note that the first 50 pages are displayed for any searches, and any beyond that are pretty much inaccessible. Perhaps various tricks can be done to get as many videos as possible, such as using different sorts, using google search, using archive.org (if it is archived) and so on. Another possibility is if someone could make a script going through every single video on Nicovideo looking for the tag MUGENキャラ作成

The G+ MUGEN community (I don't believe they use axfc much, but I'm listing it here just in case):

If it seems unrelated, no need to bother to download it, but if it's an archive, do definitely check it out.

Again, I only have so much time to look through all of these, so any assistance would be great.

If anything looks like it has a password and requires Japanese to understand (perhaps with a riddle for the password), just notify me about it so I can help out about it.

I would like to note that many of these people post on uploaders that are very short-lived. If you ever see a link to fast-uploader or puny.jp, the link will be guaranteed to be dead within 1-2 months because that is how those websites work. And other people may take characters offline without notice.

Therefore, the axfc links should take priority, but if you have the time, it would be great to grab everything afterwards, not just axfc links. Again, all password riddles can be reported to me if there's any need for assistance on that.

One extra: The Lobi MUGEN group
This group has only had one character published there, L_P (Lobi Patchouli), which I do have but is unfortunately an old version. I missed the latest one, so until the author updates and posts a new version, I won't have the latest version. But maybe I'm wrong and in the past, they published more, since I didn't look through their past records yet.

We run the risk of losing a lot of MUGEN data forever if we don't do this, which is why I am making this call right now. So please.

  Exhib Randomising
Posted by: Museli - 04-11-2016, 08:52 AM - Forum: M.U.G.E.N - Replies (2)

Hello again Spriters, I'm back with another interactive idea. Perhaps more of you will be initially on board that my largely unnecessary stat-collecting venture. Perhaps not. =o

As some of you might know from my time on SaltyBet, I was not the biggest fan of making exhibs, striving for originality when I did so. That got me thinking. What if I rando'd all the different factors:

Participants, Palletts, Stage and Music.  http://classtools.net/main_area/fruit_machine.swf - this wonderful little widget will help me do just that.

'Where's the interactive part for us in all that you insolent twat' you seem to say. Well, the team names! Suggest as many or as few team names in your comment(s) and they too will be randomised.

Don't worry I'll be keeping a personal log of all the rando exhibs and maybe do a tournie of them in due course.

Don't be a stranger.

Love you all,
Museli x

Not enough interactivity for your liking?

Suggest funny messages too! Go wild! Surprise me! Surprise you!

  Stats Spreadsheet
Posted by: Museli - 04-11-2016, 04:41 AM - Forum: M.U.G.E.N - Replies (2)

Hey all.

I'm running a stats spreadsheet because I'm a stats geek and proud of it.

Anyone that wants me to keep track of certain things - detailed below - some of which aren't tracked on the site should whisper me their SpriteClub if it differs from your twitch handle as well as the following stats:

1. Most money obtained
2. Tournie Wins [for ease, though I can look it up] in a Gold, Silver, Bronze format
3. Tournies played [found in your profile]
4. Total Bets [found in your profile]
5. Level
6. Highest Streak [if you can remember/start from you want me to track from, though you'll probably have to let me know whenever you beat your best streak unfortunately but hey I'll log it so you can compare with others!]

Like I say, hit me up if you're interested, and I'll use this thread for regular updates on how everyone is doing. Very welcome to hear suggestions on others stats to keep track of. Anything feasible. Enjoy!

Your pal,
Museli x

I'll also manually keep on top of:

7. Current Rank
8. Current Money

and would need your input on:

9. Highest Rank Achieved

  Betting Buttons

This is actually a suggestion for a feature!

I'd like to have the ability to set different button percentages for tournaments, so my tournament buttons can be 10% through 100% without requiring my main buttons to be that. Make it easy for me to all-in on tournaments!

  Update of 28/10/16
Posted by: Arxos - 28-10-2016, 05:39 AM - Forum: M.U.G.E.N - Replies (3)

I had a bunch of people ask various questions for the song requests so I'll be trying to address a few of them. The full list of new songs, as a number of people requested, can be found here.

So anyways, to address some of the biggest questions and plans that have over the past few days:

1) I've had a few people ask me to inform them which songs were rejected and why, but unfortunately I will not be able to answer these questions. The quantity that I received was a lot, and going over them in such detail is just not feasible.
For many songs it's just the case that they're not quite suitable, but other things I've encountered over the past few days includes:
- Being sent entire OST's/Albums. With the current size of the playlist including the entire thing is a bit much, and often times they have a number of same'ish tracks anyway.
- Long silence before/after track, this happened a surprising amount of time
- Excessively repeating tune, some tracks were just 4+ minutes of what felt like the same 5 minute loop
- Low quality audio

2) I'll be moving my attention to making a system for handling new characters. The current plan is for a separate game mode in which they'll come in gradually and semi-controlled, but I would love to hear people's opinion on things. The likely date for this system to go live is either next weekend (November 4th/5th) or the weekend afterwards.

3) I've decided to lower the maximum XP multiplier from odds from 100 to 10. Though it doesn't fully address the issue, I'd like people to not feel so inclined to bet $1 to try and get massive XP bonus. During the lowest points of activity it's actually fairly realistic to be the only bettor on one side and the reward for betting $1 was just far too great. I'll be trying to come up with a formula that perhaps avoids this problem altogether.

4) I've started moving characters whom are extremely lag-prone to a special, temporary tier (Temp ban). They'll all be released once I get a PC upgrade (sorry, no ETA for now).

And finally, I'm really happy with all that has happened over the past few days. Spriteclub is still small, but we've honestly grown a lot more than I had expected. Hence I'll have no qualms spending some money for that much-needed PC upgrade. Thank you all for being here!
